Discseel® Resource Center

Straightforward, plain-language answers about the Discseel® Procedure — what it is, how it works, whether it may be right for you, and how veterans can access it through VA Community Care.

The Discseel® Procedure is a minimally invasive, non-surgical treatment for chronic back and neck pain caused by damaged or leaking spinal discs. It was developed by Dr. Kevin Pauza and uses a biologic fibrin sealant to repair tears in the disc wall.

At Emerald Coast Integrated Care, the Discseel® Procedure is performed by Dr. Gerald Mastaw — a retired Navy Lt. Commander and military physician who serves as a lead trainer for the Discseel® Procedure, training other physicians in the technique. As a veteran himself, Dr. Mastaw brings a particular focus to caring for the veteran and military community across the Emerald Coast and Tampa Bay.
